I love Glee… OK, I said it… If you hang around me, you know that already because it is many times proclaimed. A little disappointed since the first episode because Jane Lynch has been so underutilized (though still loving it). I just watched this week’s episode and that changed. Is everything she does not just awesome? I’ve loved that lesbian since I saw her in Best Of Show.
Work….The past week and a half has been one of those I hate my job times. I came out of that sometime Wednesday but I DO need a vacation (not the kind where you just visit parents)….bad. It’s starting to get cold (Fall Sucks) and just where is the sun? I missed spring and most of summer because of the freaking broken leg. I starting to feel good and now fall is here. Fall Sucks!
GOD HAS A BETTER WAY is planning to protest Gay Pride in Charlotte this Saturday.
This rally is a Spirit-birthed response to Charlotte’s annual gay pride event. More than one thousand believers will be gathering to worship the Lord, intercede in prayer, and proclaim that “God Has a Better Way”! Nothing like this has ever been done in conjunction with a gay pride event in any city before, and those who join together on this day will be part of history in the making.
This is just a way to intimidate people who are scared to come out not to come and people who just want to have some fun not to come. They don’t understand the angrier people are, the more they’ll rise above.
Brighter note…sure you know this is the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing.
Didn’t want to watch it when I was 4….wanted to watch Jim and Tammy with their puppets and all that…glad I get to watch it on YouTube now.
That kind of describes my winter…and spring, but that’s not what I’m talking about. That’s the movie they shot here in Schenectady last year. Saw it a few days ago and it was just okay, nothing special. But the the images were great, not because it was filmed here, the the location was 1977 small town Wisconsin in the middle of winter and well, that’s here. Got to see the creek where we walk Casey, the Mohawk River, lots of City Hall shots, inside and out, and Union College. Also the GE Plot and Mikes Hot Dogs though the house on Avenue A they did a lot of shooting at I could not pick out. Like I said, it’s just okay so only rent it if you live around here, otherwise move along.
I thought I just wouldn’t say anything about Michael Jackson but his music was an important part of my kid-hood and young adulthood….but he disappointed me. At work last night, it has hard to find anyone really sad and I myself did not shed a tear. A lot of jokes were passed but I don’t know if gay people disliked him most or straight guys. Only a few young girls seemed upset and protested his innocence.
BTW, my leg is doing OK. My doc gave me the release to do anything I wanted as long as I was comfortable doing it. I still move at a snail’s pace and my first try at impact was quite painful but I can walk pretty good and lift heavy stuff, just slowly…and I’m still weak. I did walk Casey around the block which took forever and I think she was trying to kill me but I held my own pretty good.
My thoughts are with Michael and Lara while their dog Madison is going through a hard time right now.
The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, an HBO mini-series based on the bestselling books by Alexander McCall Smith features the adventures of Mma Precious Ramotswe, played by singer/actress Jill Scott. Scott plays a determined woman who leaves her abusive husband and opens up Botswana’s first female-headed detective agency in Gaborone, Botswana’s capital city. Part comedy, part drama, the backdrop which mesmerized me is filmed on location in Botswana, Africa. I had never heard of these books or the series but last night we ran across it and very quickly, it caught our interest. The premiere was two hours and the other six are one hour on Sundays. It brings light a whole other Africa which is not completely third world but definitely not 1st world. Pay no attention to the name of the show, it’s much more relevant than one might assume.
I’m sitting here watching Carol Burnett on Ellen and watching YouTube videos during the breaks just dying. She’s plugging her appearance on Law and Order: SVU next Tuesday and she’s got a one woman show the she does every now and then. I grew up watching her every week and can sincerely say she was an important part of my childhood development…whatever that means
I had my party sox on last night for our night out on the town for our 10th anniversary. We went to see The Wrestler after dinner and it was really good. I don’t think it’s done all that well at the box office and that’s pretty sad. A seriously surprise ending and then it was over leaving a lot up to you. Only two people got up before the end of the final credits because we were all waiting for something else to happen.
I finally finished my list. I wrote off Cadillac Records a couple of days after the list because the reviews by all were just terrible. Every other movie rocked. My favorite was Slumdog Millionaire closely followed by Milk The movie month (that turned into two and a half months) was great. My plan is to set movie goals for the summer next.
Happy Valentine’s Day. We spent it going to Utica.
First my phone was gone and now my iPod is dead. Oh the songs and other stuff are there, just no screen to find them with…and I wasn’t bad to it either, I was just listening to it and then I wasn’t. It just doesn’t seem fair. I’m debating on an iPod or some sort of mp3 player. It’s actually been gone a couple of weeks but the withdrawal is starting to weigh heavy now.
I’m watching the season premier of The Closer. It’s one of my favorite shows.
We may actually get above freezing tomorrow for the first time this year. We’ve gotten 39 inches of snow already this season which is 15 above what we normally have by this time. 2 1/2 more months of winter…it’s gonna be a long one. Did I mention it’s cold?
Slumdog Millionaire was nominated for best picture this morning. I really don’t give a rat’s ass about such things but it’s really well deserved. I hope it wins. I can’t believe none of the actors were nominated for anything.
I took Casey to the vet for an ear infection this morning. I like her so much more than Kaleb’s old vet. They are also a LOT more expensive.
I hate making up titles for entries so I won’t be doing it anymore.
Whither she was Number One, Nurse Chapel, Lwaxana Troi, or one of the many, many Star Trek computer voices, Majel Barrett carried on and fought for the tradition her husband of many years Gene Roddenbury built during his life. She was the only person to have a part in every movie and series based upon the original Star Trek. As you know, I love everything Star Trek, including Majel Barrett.
