My Hometown.....
Myers Park

Myers Park, created about 10 years after Cherry is Charlotte's most
"affluent" place to live. Known for it's towering trees
and large streets and homes, is home to Queens College, Charlotte's
first college, and Queens Road, Charlotte's most confusing road to
newcomers. A road that makes four turns and eventually ends at
itself.
Eastover
Home to doctors and the Mint Museum of Art. In 1837, a branch
of the US mint was built in Charlotte and in 1933, it was dismantled and
brought to it's current location to become the Mint Museum.
North Charlotte

North Charlotte is a great community struggling to turn itself
around. Built in the early 1900's as a mill village by the owners
of the many mills in the area, North Charlotte thrived until the 1960's
and 70's as the mills began to close. Since then it has struggled
but there is a base of dedicated homeowners who seem intent on not
letting this neighborhood do anything but get better. It's becoming a
home for artist and such and it seems to be making a comeback.
North Charlotte is filled with history and is one of those neighborhoods
where you can stop anyone and they will tell you about it.
Belmont
Belmont has a history similar to North Charlotte however it has not
done as well after it's decline. It is crime ridden and many
houses are in disrepair. It will take a lot of community
involvement to turn it around and it just doesn't seem to be
happening.
To the East you will find some of my favorite neighborhoods.
Elizabeth

Elizabeth was the first suburb to be built east of town and is home
to Presbyterian Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and Central Piedmont Community
College. Victorian style houses along with small bungalows and
large trees make this a great place to live.
Chantilly

Across the tracks you'll find Chantilly. MY FAVORITE
NEIGHBORHOOD. Built in the 30's and 40's. large trees line the
streets in this working class, non-pretentious neighborhood.
People of all background and economic backgrounds fill this neighborhood
which has never seen a decline and is even seeing an increase in
popularity.
Midwood
Huge trees, great houses and a great business district. Pawn
shops along side of tattoo parlors and fancy eating places next to
thrift shops.
