| hillsborough Street is one
of four streets that spur from The Capitol Building in the center of
town. It is home to North Carolina State University and Meredith
College. There are numerous pizza joints, apartment buildings,
restaurants, big trees, old hotels, record stores, homeless people, tattoo
parlors, old industrial buildings, and The State Fairgrounds. Above,
shops on Hillsborough Street close to NC State University. |

| Oberlin was first
established in the 1860's. Above, typical house in Oberlin; The
amphitheater at Raleigh's Little Theater built in the mid 1930's. |

| Cameron Park, my second
favorite Raleigh neighborhood, is nestled between Saint Mary's School and
NC State University. Built in the early part 1900's, it is probably
my favorite place to walk. The houses are built on small lots with
big trees. Above, Broughton High School, built in 1929; and a
typical house in Cameron Park. |

| Houses in Cameron Park; Cameron Village. The first
shopping center built in Raleigh opened in 1949. It is centered
between Oberlin and Cameron Park. The center still thrives today but was
remodeled with blue awnings at some time. I know the original facade
is under there somewhere. |
