| Pullen Park dates back to
1887. Stanhope Pullen donated the land for the park, designed and
developed it. He planted the grass as well as the other
landscaping. His love for nature gives us this highly used urban
park we still use today. It is home to one of the few antique
operational carousels left in the country. Wooden horses, ostriches,
giraffes, and more. All restored in the 1980's along with the
original military band pipe organ. You will also find canoes, paddle
boats, swimming, playgrounds, baseball, a train that goes all the way
around the park, and more. Above, Lake; Play boats; Carousal. |

| Dorton Arena. These
pictures do not do justice to this beautiful old building. Opened in
1952, it is still functioning today with not a bad seat in the house
though the acoustics leave a lot to be desired. |

| The North Carolina State
Fairgrounds. Home to the NC State fair every fall and
numerous other events almost every weekend. It moved to it's present
day 250 acre site in 1929. You can see everything there from pig
races to opera. Above, The NC State Fairgrounds; The RBC Center,
home to the Carolina Hurricanes and NC State Basketball. |

| Carter-Finley Stadium, the
home of NC State Wolfpack football, is located in the same quadrant of the
city off Hillsborough Street as The NC State Fairgrounds, The RBC Center,
and Dorton Arena. |
