| The Foyer |

 |
|
I'm glad
we have a big foyer because after hauling that piano up the
front stairs, it was really nice to have a stopping place.
Besides the kitchen, the foyer was the only room we didn't lay
carpet in. We may put down hardwood or we may even paint
it and use an area rug. We painted it bali sand, (a
light peach) to open it up and we thought it would be a could
transition color. The desk is about as old as the house
and the piano is the one I picked up last year at a
thrift store for a hundred bucks and it's made in North
Carolina. |

| The Dining Room |
 |
|
The dining room is full
of light and space but contained one problem. A huge
"built in" bookshelf. I put it in quotes because
we weren't really sure if it was built in or not, but either way,
it would have be a big job to take down and besides, it was a
great place for storage and just to put knick-knacks and pictures.
We could have painted it but the final look could not be
guaranteed. We decided to pick a dark color, thyme green,
(a dark green) so it would not stick out as much. We then
put a lot of elbow grease cleaning the bookshelves and it's one of
the prettiest rooms in the house. The table is from the
1800's and the china cabinet and
curio cabinet are not much younger. |

| The Living Room |
 |
|
The living room is where
we live. It has a lot of light and windows and the lime
green color picks up the upholstered furniture well and contrast
the dark wood furniture. It's where we sit,
watch, lay, eat, read, talk, and compute. |
