It only took a year and two months of agony and aggravation working on the kitchen. We put the washing machine downstairs and replaced it with a dishwasher. New countertop, new ceiling, floor, walls, molding, sink, refrigerator, table, and cabinet doors. We did it all except for the cabinets themselves which we just repaired and repainted. We ripped the paneling down and the medal tiles off the ceiling. We had someone else put down the Congoleum but we did everything else.

Here's the attic.  It's large enough for a few bedrooms.

No work in the basement except for cleaning and repairing the stairs.  We moved the washer downstairs and added shelving.  There was tons of junk down there from the previous occupant which has been cleaned out.  She saved everything.  I have the greatest collection of screws and nails as well as hundreds of old mason jars.
