5 March 2001
I'm back, 9 states later, I'm going to bed
now. Pics and news tomorrow.
..........
6 March 2001
OK, eleven
states not nine, I was tired. After flying out to Utah, and
spending a great deal of time exploring Salt Lake and the surrounding
area, we decided to drive home instead of flying. And I did say
we, not I. Duncan has taken a job in Raleigh, NC so for a couple
of weeks, he's unemployed and back home.
I took about 75 or 100 pictures while I was out
there but due to "an unfortunate incident", 50 or so got
deleted. I was seriously depressed but that's life. I've
managed to make a page of our cross country trip but the greatest of
pictures are gone. Take
a look at it
..........
7 March 2001
On our trip we had to stop in Metropolis,
Illinois. Of course you know this is home to Superman, or at
least a giant Superman statue in front of the court house in the town
circle Not to worry, if you're looking for the Vietnam Veteran's
Memorial, it's around to the side. More trip pictures are here.

10 March 2001
Took a trip to Raleigh this week to explore the
area. Duncan took the job so we'll be moving soon. A little
faster paced this time, I have no qualms about moving three hours
away. The plan is different this time because when I sell the
house and quit my job, I'll be a kept women. I've decided
to go back to school and make a lot of changes. Good luck to
me.
Also, a visit from Ray & Tommy today, a
good time for all.

17 March 2001
I spent the whole day in Raleigh today
looking at houses. On the one hand, I'm scared to death, giving up
everything I have, my house, my job, friends, family. On the other
hand, I'm the most excited I've been in years. Everything will be
brand new and fresh. Going back to school will definitely be the
biggest challenge but it could be the best thing that's ever happened to
me.
Most importantly though, tomorrow I expect to
finish the Charlotte page I've been working on for what seems like
months. Ironically, it won't be my home for much longer. Back to Voyager and then to
bed. I'm beat.
..........
18 March 2001
Today I finished the highly awaited "my hometown"
page so check it out. It has a lot of pics on it. Also got
to see the episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation which introduced Ensign
Ro Laren, one of my favorite characters and Duncan has put down a
deposit (rental) in Raleigh for a house. Moving soon.
..........
19 March 2001
Well, it's official. I'll be moving
soon. I know that because all three toilets are now in perfect
working order. Before you know it, the bathtub will be recaulked
and the carpets will be clean. I will then beat all the
personality out of the place and it will be ready for sale. I will
need to interview realtors and all that mumbo jumbo and keep the place
artificially spotless, a trait that Duncan says I do anyway. Any
advise on selling will be appreciated.
A good thing! I received an e-mail from
one of my oldest friends since third grade but haven't talked to in more
that ten years. I'm jittery inside just thinking about
it.

20 March 2001
I feel kind of guilty today because I had such
a nice day though I didn't sleep well last night. I lost an old friend last week who was way too young.
Although I really only talked to him every four or six months these
days, I feel a deep sense of loss. Tomorrow will be his funeral
and I'm sure they will play Prince. Maybe Purple Rain would be
appropriate. I will miss you Glover, and your smile.
And thanks for the Great Polaroid Camera Joe & Chris. It's for when I need
pictures NOW. It's great.

21 March 2001
OK, so I'm running around bitching and
complaining about cleaning up this house, packing up Christmas stuff
(yea, still), just thinking how much it sucks having to get everything
ready to market my house. All
the sudden I'm thinking about earlier today at Dennis' funeral.
Life is too short. Why am I worrying so much about this?
There are so many more important things in life.
It was a cool funeral by the way, although it
was cold and rainy. It was a black funeral, but half the
people were white. They gave everybody a chance to say
something and I could only hope people will say things like that
about me when I die. Dennis was to young. He was my age.
Lighter side stuff. I stopped at the Wal-Mart
this morning on the way to work to get an umbrella, I knew I would need
one, and bought some Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies. I
haven't seen them in years.
I ate every Nutter Butter Peanut Butter
Sandwich Cookie, stress ya know, and I forgot to bring the umbrella to
the funeral.

25 March 2001
We got a house. Porch and a huge backyard
for the Kaleb. Three huge dogs
next door but if they mind their P's&Q's, she'll leave them
alone. Yesterday, the WHOLE day was spent cleaning and painting
the old place. Realtors will come next week to let me interview
them and the struggle not to make a mess will continue. The next
week, I go to Raleigh
to enroll in school. I said I'd never go back. Here I go
again. Am I crazy?
..........
27 March 2001
It's official. Last day of work, April 13
and for JeepTick readers, a very special value on this house for sale.

28 March 2001
This better be good
because I am psyched. My favorite cartoon since I was just a little kid, not
including adult
cartoons
which are some of the best shows on TV these days. Only with
the help of those meddling kids could so many mysteries have been
solved. Will Fred and Daphne send Scooby, Shaggy, & Thelma off
by themselves so they may disappear to do who knows what? And all
the while the only thing Thelma wanted was little quality time with
Daphne. I wouldn't mind a little quality time with Freddie Prince
Jr. myself but what would Matt Damon say about that? Oh, excuse
me, I digress. Let's just hope they don't make the mistake of
inviting Scrappy Doo to be in the show although a cameo by Scooby Dum would be OK but I know he's busy these
days. He works for me.
Bargains, bargains, bargains. Remember
the days when your rode
your bike to the K-Mart and went to the back of the store and got a
hot dog and made a suicide to drink, a witch doctor to you folks who
weren't raised right. The only place at the time you could
make your own soda. And then you heard it. "Attention
K-Mart Shoppers, when you see the blue light, there will be all kinds of
crap on special on the cheap portable table under it, but for only the
next ten minutes." The Blue Light Special is back at
K-Mart. By the way, that may not have been the exact announcement.
