Here's something I've discovered
about this house, although sliding on the floors is great fun, I am no
longer able to jump up and down because it has the same effect as an
earthquake. I now have to find another activity to consume my down
time. Because of the amount of caffeine I consume, I seem to have
to always be doing something.
Got our first visit from Lara last night. Had a
delicious dinner and topped it off with Will and Grace. Living in
a city that has plenty of people coming in from out of town to work has
it's advantages. I'm also excited because my folks are coming to
visit today. A day of touring and site seeing is imminent.
Gotta go now, I hear the Jeep calling.

Later
Today...
Just had a great day with my folks
in town. Showed them the sights of Raleigh and even went to the Raleigh Rib
Festival. Not really a rib person, they were the tastiest ribs
I've ever had.

6:52am Kaleb woke me up
early to do her business, I happily obliged.
6:55am I am back in bed
7:07am I am sitting up in the bed crying because I just came out
of a dream where I am giving the eulogy of my best friend. I'd call him but he
might not appreciate it this early. I'll do it later.
7:21am Current time, they're actually playing videos on VH1.
I always wondered when they did that.

"Road Trip Eastern NC"
today. I've lived in NC all my life but it's such a big state,
I've never explored the eastern part of the state, It's almost 600 miles
wide. Eastern North Carolina can be a sad looking place for
someone who comes from a prosperous place. We traveled through Wilson,
Greenville, Rocky Mount,
Zebulon,
and don't forget Lizard
Lick, North Carolina. Most not bad places but downtown Wilson
seems to have been abandoned. We had a governor, a very good one
by the way, for 16 years from Wilson, you would have thought that with
all the money he threw to eastern North Carolina, Wilson would
have prospered some. Also got to explore Eastern Carolina University,
one of the schools on my short list when I was picking schools many
years ago. It wouldn't have been such a bad choice.
Next trip to the east will be Princeville.
The first city in the US started by black people and wiped out in 1999
by Hurricane Floyd. Much of eastern NC was wiped
out by Floyd, and is just starting to recover. The whole state is
still suffering from budget shortfalls because of all the money to
rebuild infrastructure.

I now have the Jeep in Class A
running condition. So of course, that's what I've been doing all
day. It's about one of my favorite activities. Even if I
don't get anywhere, accomplish anything, or see any other Jeep boys riding
around, going nowhere, accomplishing nothing, I get satisfaction letting
the air blow over my shaved head, hanging my foot out the door and
taking it all in. Tomorrow, I plan on doing little else. I
must now get back to watching the police boys in shorts standing outside
my house with their bikes talking. Wonder if they want a Jeep
ride. Maybe they want to come in a watch The Simpsons or Jimmy
"JJ" Walker and Mark Jocobson (redneck in a tux) doing a Toyota Of Durham
commercial, not yet on their site

I've been busy updating my Me page. I figured my life has
changed enough the past few months to warrant it. Check it out.

I can't believe it's been more than a week since an update. I
guess I just haven't been at the computer as much. It could be
that I've been playing with my cool new Tim-may doll that Duncan got for me, (no way to
substitute the word action figure here is there?) or the time I spent
planting all kinds of new flowers in the front of the house, or even the
time I've had to think about pruning the Kaleb's tongue back because of an inability to keep it in her mouth,
but it's not. Just a little bit of laziness and a little bit of
really nothing to say. I've been busy registering for school,
which I started by the way, and I'm not the oldest person in
there. I was actually a little worried about that fact. If I
can make it through 5 hours a day, I shouldn't have any problems with
the rest. I have also been watching a little too much TV for my
own good. A lot of season and series finales. Voyager,
Popular, and Third Rock From The Sun won't be returning so that's a
little less must see TV for me. I'm a little bit embarrassed to
admit I love Third Rock, but somebody must have. It was on for six
years.
I'm also debating whether to
subscribe to the local
paper. I love the paper. I've always been sort of
a addict but I think it may take me away from the things that I really
should be reading. And finding new bike trails close to the house
is always a happy event for me. Last week, I found one that takes
me by some of Raleigh's most distinguished, if not five star
accommodations.
By the way, I was only kidding
about pruning Kaleb's tongue.

June Bugs. Cartoon
Network has finally got access to every Bugs Bunny cartoon for it's
annual June Bugs celebration
On another note, my dad served in
WWII and Duncan's dad made a career out of the Army. He served in
the Korean War, Vietnam, and Central America. I would like to
thank them and the millions of other veterans who have helped protect my
freedom and this country.

I am just super happy.
The speech that I have been dreading all week for Communications class
is done and I did good, or at least I think so. Think I'll go ride my
bike, play some frisbee,
walk the dog, and listen to some Katrina and the Waves, stuff I've been ignoring all
week, well, right after "In The Heat of the Night" that is.
