The sun did not shine. It was too
wet to play. So we sat in the house All that cold, cold, wet day. I sat
there with Sally. We sat there, we two. And I said, "How I wish We
had something to do!" Too wet to go out And too cold to play ball.
So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all. So all we could do was to
Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! And we did not like it. Not one little bit.
>BUMP!< And then something went BUMP! How that bump made us jump!
We looked! Then we saw him step in on the mat! We looked! And we saw
him! The Cat in the Hat! And he said to us, "Why do you sit there
like that?" "I know it is wet And the sun is not sunny. But we
can have Lots of good fun that is funny!" "I know some good
games we could play," Said the cat. "I know some new
tricks," Said the Cat in the Hat. "A lot of good tricks. I
will show them to you. Your mother Will not mind at all if I do."
Then Sally and I Did not know what to say. Our mother was out of the
house For the day. But our fish said, "No! No! Make that cat go
away! Tell that Cat in the .....

Here's to the kids
who are different
The kids who don't
always get A's.
The kids who have
ears, twice the size of their peers,
And noses that go
on for days....
Here's to the kids
who are different,
The kids they call
crazy or dumb,
The kids who don't
fit in,
with the guts and
the grit,
Who dance to the
beat of a different drum....
Here's to the kids
who are different,
The kids with the
mischievous streak,
For when they have
grown,
as history's
shown,
Its their
difference that makes them unique.

So Lebos is leaving
it's home on Independence
Blvd. in Charlotte
after as many years as I can remember. I never shopped there, but
it was one of my accounts when I lived in Charlotte. A place where
the staff was as diverse as the selection of goods. You could do
your shopping at the Tu-Tu Boutique or at Boot Hill. Maybe you
need a pair of size 15EEE sneakers, some god awful western wear,
ballet slippers, or even rodeo gear. You may be waited on by a
good ole western boy, a little teen age girl, or a big ole queen.
They see a nitch and fill it. There will be an interchange there soon and Lebos will be down the
street, but that corner, as well as the new Lebos will never be the
same.

I voted for the first time today
in my new home. Interesting enough, non-partisan elections for one
thing. As much as I have always thought it was a good idea, it
makes for the most boring campaigns. It was very hard to learn the
issues here, as I must say, I really don't care yet about them.
Another thing that's interesting is the fact they still use paper
ballots. In a county of almost 600,000 people, they still use
paper ballots. Anybody heard of Dade County, anybody heard of the
twenty-first century?

State Fair tonight. Had a
great time until I decided greasy fair food plus fast circular rides
don't mix. Need I say more?

I've been doing some minor
revamping to the old site today. With a little help from my mom
and some old pictures, I've updated my Me
page. So if you want to see way to many pictures of me, check it out.

This
guy has been standing here at this truck stop by Interstate 85 close to
the Yadkin River forever. When I was a kid, my dad's job took him
out of town during the week so when summer vacation rolled around, I got
to go with him for a week as long as I hid in the truck if the boss came
around. Leaving at 4:30 in the morning we usually had breakfast
later so when he woke me up, it was this big man here I would see.
One of the times of my kid hood when I could hang out with my dad by
himself without anyone else around. Sometimes when I visit my
folks today, we still sneak off together without anyone else.
My appetite for throw down nachos
with sour cream (no jalapenos, I'm a pussy) was appeased this weekend
because we went to Charlotte
and ate at one of my most missed restaurants, Lupies. Hung out with Michael & Lara and basically rested my
brain. Also realized that this is going on. Granted, I could care less
about watching baseball on TV and I've been busy with other things
lately, but how could I not know? Must really be feeling good now
because did I mention we're going out of town
for Christmas?

I can't say how disappointed I am
with the turn out of trick or treaters this year. Granted we live
in a neighborhood with virtually no children but when I pass the bus
stop in the mornings, there are plenty of kids out there. I can
only believe that parents are keeping them in this year because of the
world situation but I don't see the harm in trick or treating.
Hell they were blading apples when I was a kid. Remember bringing
your candy to the hospital to get it x-rayed?
The cute one in the middle is me
by the way. Here's some memories I'm kind of ashamed of. You
know those kids who went trick or treating when they were thirteen or
fourteen with no costume? That was us. What losers we were,
but it was fun. Who knows what I'd do today for a Reese's Cup
though. Another was when I made my own ghost costume that ended up
looking more like a KKK uniform than a ghost. Thanks mom for
filling me in on that by the way.
