Hummm......
Total burn out lately.
That explains the lack of updates and, well, lack of anything
interesting. We did spend the weekend at the in-laws cleaning up
their house. They're not in the best of health and aren't able to
do a lot for themselves so I was happy to help, it was just a bigger job
than I expected. I had one of my most difficult exams today so
I'll be somewhat foul for the rest of the evening anyway. That's
OK, because I'll just relax by the fireplace and thaw out from our
regular 2½ morning walk. The only thing different was at 6:00
this morning it was 19 degrees and I could find no hat. An
undoubtedly, there are not hats left in Raleigh because I've been in
every store tonight. I guess I'll just have to be a man until it
gets warmer.
Until then, Put another Log On The Fire.

It's getting close to graduation, June 16th, everybody's
invited. So everybody got together to blow off a little
steam. I aced Mr. Taylor's final, too. So there. Sent
Aaron off to the real world also, today's his last day so good luck
dude.
Why?
Why? Why? The greatest candy bar on earth now is now
proclaiming to have a new and improved recipe. OK, I haven't tried
it but have these people not heard of New Coke. Remember
1986. Do they not realize there is a reason New Coke's not around
any more? It's not like it's Tide or Chrysler. They have
to be improved every year in order to keep market share. Baby
Ruth is classic. New Extra Action Tide with Bleach Alternative
and Stain Fighting Enzymes and Color Protectant and
Will Hang Itself On The Line By Itself formula is not.
(Bought some yesterday by the way)
Maybe I just need to simmer down and be happy
that Nair
has started marketing to guys. Ahh, smooth back.
And it's been six
months.

This week was pretty exciting for a couple of different
reasons. First while channel surfing yesterday, I passed Judge
Hatchett and I saw a girl who looked very familiar. I new it
was an old friend of mine. You see, the supposed father of her
child was claiming he may not be just that. She had lied and said
she had an abortion when she really wasn't pregnant at all so of course,
he slept with her again and she had his baby. Oh but no, it wasn't
his baby after all and she turned out to be a chronic liar. What a
lucky child it is. It's nice she was able to get therapy courtesy
of Judge Hatchett, and it's nice they keep getting fresh content for
these shows. Don't make her come off that bench!
Then, yesterday evening, I talked to a VERY
dear old friend. I haven't talked to Beverly in more than twelve
years. We were classmates for all twelve years of school and then
we just kinda drifted away from each other. Boy did we take the
teasing about the boyfriend/girlfriend thing, if they only new
hey? I found her on the internet about a year ago but this was the
first time we have actually talked in person. We talked for more
than an hour in a half. She was always smart but who knew she was
so wise. Some cancer cells were found so they did a hysterectomy,
and hence the reason I called. I don't know why I waited so long.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Lucky.
So tell me what happened to the orange star, yellow moon, blue diamond,
and the green clover. All that is left is the pink heart, and the purple horseshoe, and it doesn't
count. It's not an original shape. Today, besides the pink
star and purple horseshoe, you can enjoy the "improved" and
"more exciting" shapes and colors. More specifically, red balloons, blue moons, orange and white five
pointed shooting stars, yellow and
orange pots of gold, pink
yellow and blue rainbows, and two-tone
green Lucky hats.
This weekend I have not stopped. In addition to spending the
entire Saturday, which was sunny with a high of 86 degrees, in the yard
landscaping. I have spent most of today doing the same. Only
difference was the rain and temperature in the 40's. Hummm, but I
got flowers in the yard, just like a young homo should. We also
took a little time yesterday to go to Christina's
birthday/softball party. That's Duncan's niece who is just a
sweetheart. I have also worked on my resume today. Anybody
want to give me a job?

I worked at Carowinds,
now Paramount's Carowinds, for four and a half years when I was a
kid. I did love it. I made probably 5,000 Slurpees, 20,000
giant pretzels, 2 millions corndogs, 5 million ice cream cones, and 10
million burgers and sodas. I rode every non-roller coaster ride
200 times and every roller coaster 500 times. Before that, we
would visit at least three times a year. Amy and I would make a
list of every ride as to not miss any. We knew all by heart and
yes, I was already anal at that young age. What got me to thinking
about it was a houseguest we had this weekend. I don't remember
Alan at all from back then but we worked side by side in 1984 for a year
at the Grubsteak. I've even talked to his best friend many times
over the years and the more I think about it, the more I remember Adrian
having this sidekick but no face or name to go with it. We
remember all the same things and people, just not each other. Is
it age or time that makes us forget? Any how, I remember all the
good times I had working there and playing there.

We are now the proud owners of a riding lawn mower. Granted,
it's fifteen years old, but hey, it's free. My dad gave us his old
lawn mower and after spending two hours Wednesday fixing our old one,
I'm not complaining. He also gave me an old gold pocket watch,
something to treasure forever. My folks are both in their upper
seventies, yea, they had me real late. Not an accident, but a
surprise I was always told. They've always been real vibrant, I
guess that's the word, but the past six months or so I've noticed a
change in my dad. He seems more fragile physically and he has
slowed down. There is also something else though I just can't put
my finger on it. My dad is cool.

I'm not sure what you'd want to look for but I
did add a search engine to the
site, so have at it. And I have learned that I have something in
common with Celine Dion's baby, we both cry when she starts to
sing. I do understand though, my dog starts to cry when I sing.

Happy Easter, and don't worry. It's not our house that seems to
be possessed by bunny rabbits. If you want to worry about someone,
worry about Jacques Loussier. He claims Eminem stole his
song. I think I'd keep my mouth shut and not claim it at
all. For now, it's off to Cumberland County in search of Diet Rite
Tangerine Soda for Duncan. They don't just sell it anywhere ya
know.

31 March 2002...Later
The call for rain has been around all weekend but we remained mostly
dry for most of it. However, as we were standing in the front yard
this afternoon we heard a noise illuminating from down the street.
Is it wind we thought or maybe a tornado? No. We look and
there is this wall of water coming down the street. I have
honestly never seen anything like it. We got on the front porch
and watched it go by. Twenty minutes later it was done. It's
raining again, but hey, it is Spring.
