Our GE furnace. I sure everything in this GE town was GE made at one
time.

I guess if our furnace needs service, we can call Delta-Rufer Heating
Service on Brandywine Ave. at FR7-0889. Our oil tank was dug up a few
years ago but we still have our permit when it was installed in 1947.
Sometime along the way, the furnace was converted to gas.
The leaves have finally started to change colors in the last week,
very late for this part of the country. The unusual weather we've had of
late has not only made it a very late fall but an unspectacular one.
Damn, I'm not complaining mind you, the weather is beautiful for
November especially after all the rain we've had. I guess there'll be
some raking in store next week...Our kitchen floor arrived this week.
Too bad it arrived to the dining room rather than the kitchen. We'll
just have to step over it for the time being...I'm also getting over
being sick. I've had like zero energy for the past week and being too stubborn
to take NyQuil I missed a lot of sleep. Yesterday was better (Thank you
NyQuil) and today is better than that. Now maybe I can make some phone
calls and do some things I just haven't had the time or energy to do.
Now a confession. I never watched The
Nanny when it came on at night. I wondered how such a show could
have lasted so long. She's so annoying. I have now started catching The
Nanny in reruns. I kind of like it...Don't hate me.

God my feet hurt. Yesterday at work we painted most of the day so I
wore old clothes and old shoes. I wore my my old Vans
from about 6 years ago, size 11. They were always VERY comfortable at the
time, so much I wore a hole in the bottom. My next
shoes are the ones I wore while I painted the house. The were also
size 11. When I bought them, they were comfortable. I was on the ladder a
great deal of the time and that's when I first noticed the shoes didn't
feel quite right. They were covered with paint so I got a new
pair of shoes. Yes I do try on shoes when I buy them and at the time,
they felt alright. But they also always felt kind of tight. Next were the Skechers,
size 11, they still feel OK but when I bought my the second pair of
Skechers, I upped it to 11 1/2. My most recent buy were boots and they're
12's, only because I always but insoles in my boots. My feet have grown
and God they hurt. 11 1/2 is good.
You know they say, "Big feet, big..."

Yesterday the president declared we do not torture. Doesn't that seem
strange considering congress is trying to pass a law outlawing torture
and the president is trying to keep it from passing? That's our dancing
Bush.
This morning, I went to vote and of course, there was no line. Even
in the presidential election, I have never seen a line there. I don't
know if they've never downsized their polling places since this city is
now a third smaller than it was in 1950. I know they've never changed
the ballot machines. Five years since the Florida hanging chad
controversy and they haven't even decided what they want to do about the
new machines they have to buy by next year. This when the federal
government is paying for 95% of the cost with state and local
governments picking up the other 5%. I really liked the touch screens
they used when I lived in Charlotte but controversially, they leave no
paper trail. The optical scan machines they use in Raleigh are not quite
as simple but still pretty easy to use and they leave a paper trail if
there were to be a problem. I now embark on this beautiful day with my Chex
Mix.

I smashed another finger trying to be a good boy by moving the pipe
that came up through the floor in the kitchen for the dishwasher. The
dishwasher now drains behind the dishwasher rather than beside the refrigerator
leaving room for a bigger refrigerator. I wanted to fill this hole
before the new floor was out down. I smell the end of this project that
started more than a year ago coming to an end. It smells good.
My finger hurts, I want pizza.

I'm sure you can't wait to see our new kitchen floor. Well, maybe you
don't care. You'll still have to wait until I finish putting down the
quarter-round and until our brand spanking new refrigerator arrives on
Saturday. How sad is it when you get excited about a new refrigerator?
Maybe I'm thinking more that it's arrival marks the day when it's
finished. It's been more than a
year.
I think I want a tattoo. I keep talking about it and whenever someone
ask me what I want, I don't know. I want it on my calf but I'm not sure
what exactly to put there. It has to be me, yet cool. What IS the symbol
for oxymoron?

I think I was pretty sure before, but now I'm 100"% sure, I'm
gay. I was raking the yard today listening to the awesome
new Madonna CD on the iPod and couldn't stop myself from dancing. Oh
I tried, I really tried, but I couldn't stop. I was by myself and I
didn't care if the neighbors were watching or not. It may have been the
most fun I've ever had raking leaves as an adult. I don't count the
times raking as a kid when you ran and dove into the piles. If I would
have only danced to Madonna back then.
As for my tattoo, my recommendations I got are for a Jeep,
a nuclear symbol which I guess means an atom,
and "a big dick". The big dick is out. I can look at one of
those anytime. I like the jeep and the atom ideas.
My proverb of the day: There is none so blind as he who cannot see.

This afternoon Duncan started preparing for the feast tomorrow by
preparing some deserts -- cheesecake, pumpkin pie, and red velvet cake.
I did my part by breading the fried squash and pretending not to see the
rutabagas (yuck) cooking on the stove. He likes to cook and I detest it
for the most part unless it's something very simple and easy to clean
up. We're staying here this year and having some friends over. It's
gonna be a cold snowy day as we expect one to three inches of snow on
this Thanksgiving. My first White Thanksgiving, I have yet to experience
a White Christmas. Can I have some cheesecake?

Snow on Thanksgiving morning is something I'm not thankful for,
however, watching my man in the kitchen excited about cooking a big
dinner is something I am. In fact, I'm thankful just being able to watch
him do anything. I love having him in my life. I'm also thankful for my
great family, my awesome dog, my friends, the fact that I don't have to
be out in the cold today or even better, the fact that I don't live out
in the cold.
It's almost time for the parade. This year we'll just watch it on TV.

30 November 2005
It started out with some home movies I bought on E-Bay about a lady
from the 1940's who had a secret life. As it turned out, she was in WWII
in some secret mission. I was watching the movies and listening to the
stories told by her son. At first we were looking at the movies from the
viewer's point of view. Two war planes flying over the ocean all by
themselves. All you could see was ocean. All the sudden, I find myself
on one of the planes and the other gets shot down. They were the size of
skyscrapers and we were on a secrete mission. I watched the other as
it's pieces fall to the ocean. I hear talk of Iraq. All the sudden, I
was falling. All I could see was the remains of the other plane. I fell
for a long time. I didn't ponder life or my loved ones or the hereafter.
I thought about how much it would hurt. I was falling fast and I didn't
want to hit the wreckage of the other plane in the water. I tried to
divert myself. I woke up...I was breathing heavily and my heart was
racing. I felt as I left so much out as I got up to write this in the
light as opposed to writing in the dark as I
usually do. It's 4:30AM. I have to go to work soon. My heart is just
beginning to slow down.
