I
hate asking for big favors. I don't know if it's because I don't like
"owing" anybody or if I just don't like to impose on people.
Maybe a little of both. Anyway, the hot water heater decided this
morning it didn't want to hold water anymore. I bought a new one but
sure don't want to pay anyone to install it because it would more than
double the cost for something we can simply do but I don't have much
confidence in my expertise in soldering. I asked, and a friend is gonna
come over tomorrow and help "pop" that thing right in there. I
do have a hard time asking for something...Ask me for anything though. One
guy on American Idol referred to his hat as a beanie, not a beanie, but
one guy referred to his hat as a toboggan, yes a toboggan.
First, I got these people saying buggy instead of cart, now toboggan has
come to light. They say they're converting me, but I think I'm
converting them. ..........

It
wasn't too hard installing a new hot water heater with a little help from
a friend. Still a pain in the ass project to do in the evenings but we
saved a bunch of money, and since the old one was 25 years old, I really
can't complain. I also chiseled away a little more on the downstairs
bathroom project today. I started out with no vision but now I'm thinking
it's gonna look really good now. We toured Rome
and every town and village on the way on a much needed road trip today.
Duncan's on vacation so we hit the road. I gotta say, "There ain't
much happening in Rome, NY." We picked a big lavender sandwich shop
to eat at and it was OK but the tripping part was the best. At work,
they're changing all the salaried people from 48 to 40 hours a week and
I'm just plain gitty...Is gitty a word? What am I gonna do with an extra
eight hours a week? Gitty I tell you, gitty...if gitty is a word that is. I
got my first camera phone so there may be some weird useless pictures for a
while. ..........

I am so mad right now. As I watch the Good
Morning America story about Teri
Hatcher being sexually molested as a child I feel the anger
building. I have at least two people in my life who I am very close to
who were sexually abused as a child and both have had mental issues as
adults. I told Duncan, the way I feel right now, I could probably kill
somebody who did that to my son or daughter, especially if I knew I
could get away with it. It's weird how the anger has presented itself
right now. As you know, I'm usually pretty laid back. I think I need to
go for a walk.

No, I haven't had a bad day snorting coke, I'm spooky
scary drywall boy. At one time I swore never to drywall again. I
swear again. What a mess. ..........

We're going out of town next month and it's the first time in ten
years or more we've had to board Kaleb. I went to check out this place
and it's very nice but I almost started crying as I drove into the
parking lot. I imagined her sad eyes looking at me as I walked away.
Quite pathetic actually. I went in and took the tour and I've stayed at
may hotels that weren't as nice as this place so I know she'll be just
fine.
I want a Mustang.

Chris
Daughtry still rocks and Elliott,
you're still my man. That said, Ace
is not my favorite and I'm glad he got a wake up call. You ain't all
that man. But honestly, why is Kevin
still there?
That said, it's been a snowy, blustery, miserable day in upstate New
York.

I'm so pissed off. I had a disagreement with a friend at work. By the
book, he is right. Both morally and logically, I'm right and everybody
agrees. He actually cited some crap from some operations manual. My boss
actually did try to go around the rule but to no avail. Everything is
going so well at work and this happened. I can usually let stuff go but
I think this chip shall remain on my shoulder.
Thirty years later, I still love Deborah Harry. I think she's coming
to the area this summer.
On the home front, I've been spending most of my spare time working
on the downstairs bathroom, hence the lack of updates. Give me one more
week (or two) and you might hear from me more.

26 March 2006...Later
I took a long nap this afternoon. I've been so tired lately and naps
usually aren't my cup of tea but I feel great. My dad used to travel
during the week when I was a kid. On the weekends he slept...and slept
and slept. I never quite got that but now I think I do. First he had a
physical job. Second, he had to either leave on Sunday afternoon or get
up at 3AM on Monday. The rest of the week he had to get up pretty early
but not 3AM. He came home late on Friday and crashed. He then took long
naps all weekend unless the family was doing something. Maybe that's the
reason I didn't get to know him until he retired. We still talk often
but with his dementia, sometimes the conversations are detailed and in-depth,
and sometimes I answer the same questions over and over again. All I
know is I now respect how he worked his ass off when I was a kid and how
little I appreciated it.
In November, Duncan bought a new TV and it would not fit in our
existing entertainment center. The entertainment center has been sitting
in the foyer ever since. We moved it out to the curb with a free sign
today. The foyer seems huge.

29 March 2006 When I was growing up, we had
one neighbor who I called my second mom and another who I called my
second dad. He really did a lot of stuff for me when I was a kid because
my dad couldn't. He took us trick-or-treating, let me drive his car when
I was about ten, and took me places when nobody else was around. I was
lucky to have him in my life. I talked to my mom today and she told me
he died several days ago. They went to his funeral and she didn't even
tell me until I called her today. I really need to sit down and write a
letter to his family. I'm sure he made a difference in my life. ..........
30 March 2006

We
learned today that our little neighborhood Price
Chopper will be closing next month. I honestly don't do my regular
shopping there because any Price Chopper is just too damned expensive
but I do like to run in there just to get some essentials every now and
then. It's sad because it's been there since 1954 and who knows what
will eventually fill the spot. We could use a Big
Lots or maybe the CVS could move next door to a bigger space. ..........

I once peed in one of my friend's Squirt bottle.
