As
you can see, we went to Niagara Falls yesterday and though I've been
there a couple of times before, last year and almost twenty years ago, I
got a new perspective yesterday. My God, it is beautiful. I've been
under the falls on the American side but we went under the falls on the
Canadian side and just stood there in the splendor. ..........
04 July 2006...Later
I put a few more Niagara Falls pictures here.
One of the things I enjoyed yesterday was how diverse the crowd was. I
think every part of the earth must have been represented there. We even
saw a group of Amish people there, one who was flying around at fifty
miles per hour on her Little
Rascal.
..........
05 July 2006 Last night, we sat on the
Hudson River bank and watched the fireworks across the river at The
Empire State Plaza. We got there early and got a great spot. I always
enjoy fireworks because it's something that attracts all different ages
and types of people. It's something I've done since I was a kid. As of
this moment, we are
still waiting on The New York Court's ruling on gay marriage. Gay
marriage...civil unions...some other compromise...or status quo. A favorable
ruling is the only thing that could make this day any nicer. ..........

I
saw this van on the news except it had a tree on top of it so I decided
to see what Flying
Fingers was. It's a yarn shop north of the city that runs this
shuttle to bring people out of the city to it's shop. It seemed to be
minus a yarn ball when I saw it on the news. Working and slumming,
that's about all I've done or seem to have done the last week. My jeep
is in the shop. It has a broken thingamajig on it. I wish it had three
big balls of yarn on it. ..........
14 July 2006 I've had three
entries in my dream journal this week which is unusual because
they're the first this year. I think I like going back to look over my dreams
better than the main journal because I can usually remember something
about the entries themselves but every time I look at the dreams, I find
most surprise me. I neither remember having them, writing them, or even
typing them. I'm sorry Duncan's sister is leaving tomorrow morning. It
seems she just got here even though she's been here three weeks. If
anything, I hope she had a good rest. We had to work much of the time so
they had to be on self entertaining mode a lot. Today is a good day for
a Jeep ride, touching up on paint, and going to work later in the day.
OK, two out of three ain't bad...and that Jeep ride better be good after
the money I spent on that bitch yesterday. Work tonight equals no
fireworks tonight. ..........

Poor
old Kaleb screamed out in pain this morning at the vet as he tried to
take her blood. Everything else checked out fine for a fourteen year old
dog though. Her teeth are filthy so we're gonna have them cleaned next
week. This is something I've put off for a couple of years because last
time we had them cleaned, it was not long after she got her skin
condition and in the back of my mind I believe it released some sort
of bacteria into her body. Remember, I'm an expert in such things. The
meteorologists in this area love to use the term "heat wave".
They seemed so thrilled today that we actually had three days in a row
over 90 so it's an official heat wave. 90 degrees and Ni-Mo
(excuse me, National Grid) can't keep up with demand as part of the
city has lost power due to high usage. ..........

One of the niftiest shopping centers in the area is coming down. In
place of this cool 1950's era building will stand a Walgreens. As much
as I like Walgreens, I fell bad that fourteen shop and restaurant owners
out of a home. Sure they'll be relocated but nowhere else will they get
this great location and visibility it provides along with the huge
1950's sign on top. No more will I get to ride by and say, "Wow,
that's a cool building." Yesterday's mail included seven
envelopes. All were from Citibank and all were different. Three were for
Duncan and four were for me. Duncan doesn't have a Citibank card but I
do. Still none included any kind of statement, just seven pieces of
junk. This morning is Eartha Kitt morning as I scour YouTube
watching
virtually
almost
anything
Eartha. Happy
Birthday Duncan, wherever in Iowa you are right now. I love you. ..........

I watched I
Heart Huckabees last night. This movie made no freaking sense yet I
couldn't turn it off...and when it was done, I liked it. I'm still not
sure what the hell was going on, but I liked it. I think there may have
been drugs involved.
I have a friend at work who's from Northern Israel, very close to Lebanon's
border. Her family's still there though they've evacuated the immediate
area. When she calls her cousins, she can hear the missiles go by in the
background and she worries most of the time. I went to see The Man Who Saw Tomorrow
when I was a kid and Nostradamus predicted the end of the world started
this way. I don't put much faith in predictions by the way. I hate
Sylvia Browne and all like her. Factoid of the day: The number of prescriptions taken in this country have doubled since 1999.
And as you see, I ordered new
stamps today.

Owl Jolson is 70 years old. Tommy
Bond, who played Butch, the mean kid from The Little Rascals, was
also Owl Jolson. He died last year. Why I thought of this, I don't know. Hats
off to Floyd Landis for winning the Tour
de France despite the fact his hip is almost gone. He's scruffy and
he's hot, but in reality, I think most regular bikers dressed in their
tight biker garb look really good. I'm a big leg person anyway,
especially the calf. Big muscular calves just turn me on. Duncan's
been out of town for a week and he'll be home late tonight. I am
so happy. ..........
26 July 2006 Lance
Bass is gay. I think Owl Jolson may be too. Joey
Fatone would actually be the hottest former N SYNC boy to come out
as gay but that's pretty unlikely. I hate Chrysler's
Dr. Z commercials. Annoying and I don't like his mustache for some
reason. ..........
